honda OEM oil is not partially synthetic. it's rebadged mobil drive clean, a conventional oil.

as for the castrol syntec not being a full synthetic, it doesn't really matter. nowadays, unless you live in death valley or siberia, you don't need the "added protection" to heat/cold that synthetics provide. from everything road rage has said (as well as BITOG forums), really the reason to use synthetic is for longer drain intervals.

now adays it seems using a decent conventional oil (havoline GF4 has been mentioned) is just as good as using a synthetic, as long as you don't want a long drain interval of say 7500 miles.

I've used Castrol Syntec in my old Lude, and am currently using it in my S2K. To this day I still like it!!

IF you guys want to prove which oil is better the the S, then put up UOA (used oil analysis).

That is out of a Reps mouth.
Maybe he's got a higher PROFIT MARGIN on some products than another? Wow, a "sales rep", no less.
Man, the "turnip truck" seems to be dropping 'em like flies today.

Guys I am not trying to start an argument, but I know that Honda is a partial synthetic. the reason that I know this is because I worked for Honda of America in the Portland, Oregon location for 5 years. Trust me, I know how the honda oil is made. And you guys are right, as long as you change your oil regularly it isn't a real factor in the performance. Unless you start to think about how often you start your car, at what tempature your vehicle operates, and what type of driving you do. But it doesn't matter what I think, run what you know, and what works best for you. The most important thing is to remember to change it often.

After reading the oil journals on this site, It seems as though the Amsoil oil (synthetic) is better. Any thoughts on that?
AMSOIL is some of the best stuff you can put in our engines...I ordered a case two weeks ago of 10W30 full synthetic amsoil, and will be changing it later on this week...If I can tell any difference I will make a write up about it...I will be switching from Valvoline.

I don't or won't believe anything you say until Road Rage validates it.
