Default CEL came on after KN install

Ok so I just finished installing my KN intake I got for Christmas. Hop in start it and let it warm up. Once its warm I head out and do a few redline runs and I only get about two miles away from my house and the car suddenly starts shaking and it won't rev past 3k and a cel comes on. I drive it really slow to get it home and open the hood and it has this weird smell. All the hoses and everything are hooked up right so I don't know what the problem is? A tried to read the code with my tuner for my truck but it said it didn't have any codes. Anybody have any ideas? 04 Ap2

You didn't re-connect something.

I cannot figure why you'd make a mod and than put the car at it's limit right away.

if everything is connected right maybe u need to look into something else especially since you did a few runs. Also you said redline runs not 7k runs

Well the air intake isn't doing anything to the car. You could run without an air intake. Go over your work.

Me personally, I would have reset ECU and re-learned idle. Taken it for a short drive, shifting around 4K. But that's me.

Did you reset your ECU? Same thing happened to me.Just unplug the battery for like a minute and turn it back on and let it idle for like 5 min with the hood closed and go for a cruise after. The ECU needs to relearn itself

Ok I figured it out. One of the plugs near the intake had one of its wires pulled out of the plug. Put the wire back in and stew runs perfect. I must have somehow pulled the wire out when I was taking the old hoses off. Had we worried there for a few minutes lol. Now time to install my heated seats
