CEL cod P1457
There is no 1 magic fix for for the DTC you have. The PCM see's a vapor leak on the canisister side of the EVAP system. You can't see a vapor leak unless you have a smoke generator designed for EVAP testing. Last time I checked they ran about $1500.
It can be an actual leak, or a mechanical problem with several solenoids and valves or an electrical problem.
If you want to fix it yourself, following the DTC troubleshooting in the Helm manual is the best advice I can give.

my bad to bring this up...
but i have one question.
is there absolutely NO WAY that a loose gas cap can trigger 1457? - can the P1457 be caused BY a loose cap? - soemthing gets into vapor canister..blah blah..
?
Reason is:
I got code P1457. didnt know what it was til later that night since I had to go to school. checked my gas cap after reading the forums and it was really loose - like one click kind of loose. tightened it up, read the code, and i just erased it. i guess ill find out tommroow if the code comes back, but yeah. most likely vapor canister?
DAMNIT. thats two cars in a row w. this stupid emssisons bull
