Default Cel code p0410

Went to get my emissions and safety done and my cel came up. 410 pulled up at autozone. What would cause the code and what can I do to correct the issue

These two posts should help:

You can try going through the troubleshooting steps from the manual posted by Lude.

But probably your airpump looks like the one here pictured by Billman.

Does your car have under 80k miles? If so you need to see what date the car was sold. Emissions controls like the airpump have a 8yr/80k mile federally mandated warranty. Hopefully your car is eligible for a warranty replacement. Otherwise, I would look for one from a car being parted out. Perhaps a junk yard. The pumps are pretty expensive when new.

BTW...I deleted your other post waking up that oooooold thread since you already had this thread going. I know you're desperate, but no need to spam the board.

my car is an '01 and has 66,000 miles on it. i will take to honda and see what the warrenty states. i will find the air pump and look at it today.

is there anyway to get to the pump without removing the bumper?

You might try removing the under tray. That might give pretty good access to the airpump.

i had a front-driver's side collision and there was really no way to avoid damaging the air pump, so I got the same code which went away after the pump was replaced. It seems like there should be a better place to put it

yea i pulled the fuse to reset the cel and it came back on. i had an accident on the drivers side about 2 months ago, and i thought the cel was just on from the accident and the shop forgot to reset. not the case. i am going to call the insurance company to see what they can do. if not, i guess im stuck with taking it to honda.

that's what happened with me, pulled the fuse, light came on next day(it will with that code after 2 start ups) ...the shop wasn't even familiar with the air pump and they fixed the bumper but not the cel. I even asked if the check engine light could've been caused by the accident and they said no, that it dealth with the exhaust! so i did my own research and showed the shop the service manual pages that list the secondary emission system code/troubleshooting/location of air pump and the insurance covered the additional repair costs(fix harness connection, replace air pump)...the air pump is really expensive too.

just talked to the adjuster with my insurance company. i need to take it back to the shop so they can inspect the part to see if the accident caused the problem. they quoted me 687.00 for the part. luckly i know the shop owner and he said he was just going to tell geico it was damaged and have them take care of it. we will see if this solves the problem
