Got the codes PO302 and a P1399. Misfire in cylinder 2.

P1399- Manufactures control Ignition system OR Misfire

I replaces all the plugs on it and started it up again and the CEL came back on. I listened to the engine and I though I heard some air leak. Any ideas? Would this be safe to drive to Honda?

At this point Im either thinking vacumn leak or dirty injectors. I did just fill up with some cheap walmart gas (93 octane though) Wonder if gas treatment would tell me anything.

Ok so today Im going to exchange the 2nd cyl coil with the 3rd coil and check the code again. If it moves the misfire then Im going to order a new coil. Im also going to put in some fuel treatment to see if the fuel injectors are maybe dirty. Any other suggestions?

Air leak???? I'd check around the intake while I was there, listen for something that sound like its hissing on and off around the valve ares and intake manifold. If you confirm this please post and we'll look into that more.

I thought I did hear a hising sound when I started it up after replacing the plugs. Sounded like it was coming from just right of the PCV area. Dont know if that was just the fuel injectors I was hearing.

The plugs were worn. About what I would expect with 97k miles on them. Not oily though dry. The porcelain had slight browning near the nut. (really expected them to look worse) The 2nd cyl plug looked no different than the rest. Neither did the coil (of course doubt a visual would do much good) Sorry dont have the plugs with me or I would post a pic.

I should note that when I did drive it I was stopped at a stop sign on an incline and the engine stalled. Not sure if that would have to do with fuel getting to the injectors or not.

Ok put some fuel injector cleaner in (of course this would require a bit of running to get through) But on crank CEI didnt come on like before and engine sounded much better then after about 1 min it came on again but engine sounded pretty normal the shake was almost gone. I didnt drive it of course. The hising sound I described was not off and on but a constant sound so not sure if this isnt normal. After I do a coil check its off to the dealer with it if I cant figure it out. Wish I were still under warranty

It's your coilpack more than likely, same thing happened on my gti. I replaced spark plugs and still no change. I would buy a couple extra, I had 3 go out within a month.

At this point Im thinking its possibly the coil as well. Does anyone know how to tell if a coil is bad other than to move it to a different cyl and check for DTC code? Looking at it I didnt see anything unusual.
