Default CEL Nightmare

First i want to say i love the S2000 but Fack 06+ every issue i had with the car beside the cat and 02 plug was something wrong with a DBW system. The pass week the car felt like it would jolt a bit back and fourth even with the throttle still. Didnt have a CEL went to the dealer set a visit for next week so they can find out whats wrong.

Well today on the highway CEL pop on with ! and VSA the car slam on the brakes and drive like crap and wouldn't rev pass 4k . But i was 2 exit before a honda dealer so i pull in there and had them pull the code.

They say its a TPS i think. Its the cpu that controls the throttle body when you use the gas pedal.

good news they only want $370 170 for the part and 200 labor. Bad news they said this is rare cause there no record of this happening to another s2000 that they know of and that the part is backorder til 12/7/10 wtf. They gonna call honda in the morning to see what they can do for me. see if they can get it if another dealer or have honda push one out for me. thankfully this dealer taking care of me. they are doing what they can to help. they might help with me with the final bill.

But i dont know what to do. i needed to vent but yah please if you have any ideas or info about this issue i would be grateful to hear it.

If you ever tune your car, you'll be thanking god you have an 06+... flashpro.

you could save yourself a lot of money by doing the OmniPower TPS DIY, requires a little modification but nothing crazy.

you too, huh? luckily i carry a portable OBDII scanner in my car and i pulled the code from the ECU. its a p2138 error code which is a faulty throttle sensor. for the longest time it felt like i forgot how to drive stick as the car was CONSTANTLY bucking and jerking.

i have an 07..and mine started going out right after my powertrain warranty expired at 66000 miles. luckily, honda did a good will warranty claim and mine and charged me only 80 bucks for everything. good luck to you.

My 07 had the same problem and despite the error code saying TPS it didn't fix the problem. https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=822683

Even AP1s with throttle cables have had TPS issues, requiring the replacement of the entire throttle body since Honda doesn't sell the sensor seperately. Assuming that's what's really going on with your car, it's technically not a DBW issue.
