Default Cel P0122

Hey guys,
My check engine light went on over the weekend and I brought it into Honda this morning. They pulled a code of P0122 and told me that my throtle body needed to be replaced. I'm a do-it-yourselfer and have some knowledge about cars, but have never had to work with the throtle body. Can anyone tell me what to look for in terms of wear and how difficult this would be to change myself. Also, what kind of time-frame do I need to be looking into replacing this, ie, is there any harm being done with me driving the car as it is right now.

Thanks in advance,
Nick (RiceBurnerTX)

That code can be intermittent so I would first reset it and drive to see if it comes back. If you choose to replace the throttle body it is an easy job. (The failure is really the TP sensor but unfortunately they chose to integrate the parts).

Thanks for the info and the quick response. They reset the CEL for me so hoepfully it won't come back on. Is this something I should be worried about, and is there anything I should look out for performance wise to tell me that the part is degrading or turning into a more serious problem?

Thanks again,
Nick

Probably. It was just an out of range signal from the throttle position sensor that the ECU picked up. May be a one time fluke, but even if you have to replace the TB it is no big deal.
