Thanks for the tip Destiny2002, just replaced my cabin filter using a 5mm socket. No broken clips.

After seeing all the filthy AC filter on this thread, I decided to have a look at mine. I was pretty sure it wouldn't be that bad... I have a 2007 with 70k km approx. Got the car in 2011 and never changed this. As a matter of fact, I learned that even a convertible could have a AC filter when looking in the ''under the hood'' section of this forum. ThX S2KI !!!

So, was I wrong about the cleanliness of mine??? You bet!

I'm glad I drive top down most of the time I drive the car, but in the early and late season, I was probably breathing a lot of that ''natural add-on to the smell of my car interior''

Recently bought an S2k and replaced both engine and cabin filters. The 5mm socket worked great! Thanks!

I bought an ATP Automotive HA-7 Carbon Activated Premium Cabin Air Filter from Amazon ~$16.
I'm pretty sure the old filter had NEVER been changed. Check it out:

Just brought her home on Saturday. Looks like all 36.2k miles were on the filter. . Replaced with Wix filter (and part number) via Amazon as pictured.

A local dealership in the Phoenix area want $69.50 to change the cabin filter and "sanitize" the ductwork. HA! Pop the hood and this job is done in no time at all.

Does anybody know the part number (or the equivalent) for the rivet / clip / fastener that goes into the weather strip? I lost one of the clips when I pulled strip.
