Default changing motor mounts

I am going to be changing out my engine mounts soon. Is it ok to support the engine with a 2x4 and a floor jack under the oil pan? or is there a better way to do it?

Damn dude - don't know if that's a good idea. Why not rent an engine crane?

change one at a time. suport engine with jack with block of wood between it and oil pan should be fine.

Cool, that's how I was planning to do it. Just wanted to double check that there wasn't anything wrong with that. Thanks

I'm going to go with DER on this one. I would suggest using an engine crane. They're not that expensive (to rent or buy) - definitely less expensive than oil pan damage would be...

It can be safely done with a block of wood under the pan. It's actually easier to install some headers by removing the right engine mount and raising the engine slightly.
