changing plugs
the rubber gasket inside my spark plug socket came out of the socket and is now stuck on the plug. i cant unscrew the plug now. if i take off my valve cover can i get to it? should i avoid removing the valve cover?
any ideas? im screwed!

I'm not sure I understand why you can't unscrew the plug...just take the plug socket that had the bit of rubber inside and stick it back in there.
Then use a normal deep socket to tighten the plug rather than the plug socket.

i finally got it. i think while trying to get the rubber insert back into the socket, i jammed it further down, which wasnt allowing the socket to grab the base of the spark plug.
ran around the corner to kragen and bought an o-ring hook (like a large dentist tool) and hooked the rubber insert till i could pull it out.
what a pain in the ass. after the whole ordeal i realized i wasnt using my nice socket from my craftsman set.... i was using some cheapo powerbuilt socket that somehow made its way into my tool chest. note to self: dont use shitty quality tools.

i have a decent collection of craftsman before someone stolen them, I can't afford to replace them all esp with the shtty craftsman warranty now

should i try to snap the ceramic part off the plug and get it out, then unscrew the base?

if i wasn't buying snap-on tools, i would be at the flea market picking up and piecing together genuine old school built to last craftman tools.
