You can get yours checked out and low tested to see if they are faulty

I would not waste the money on this based on my experience and what others have experienced.

Random1, I'm glad you're staying involved with this. I really appreciate the time and care you took to detail your own troubleshooting.

lude9285, the lowest basic parts price I have seen for injectors is about $99 each at Majestic Honda aka www.hondaautomotiveparts.com. You have to decide if you are qualified to replace them, or have a mechanic do that.

I'm trying to figure a way to see if I can get this covered under the emissions warranty before I buy a set on my own. My car is past the 36/36K warranty period and I haven't thoroughly read my emissions warranty yet.

My symptoms seem identical to what Random1 documented with his car.

well i took it to the honda dealer in colorado...telling them what codes i pulled (misfire1234+random misfire) and what i had tried so far to remedy it ( plugs, injector cleaner, fuel pressure check). They charged me $150 and pretty much just cleared the codes i think!!! When i drove it home from the dealership it came right back on. According to them fuel system is good ...pressure....injectors. So pretty much i paid them money for them to tell me what i already know...haha.

Im back in NY now with the car and ive cleared the codes a few more times and it seems to stay off longer when i just keep it at low rpms...if i try to use vtec it seems to turn back on almost immediately. Service required light (flashing)just came on too.
i think im going to make an appointment at honda to get the valves adjusted...cant hurt ...just hit 80k

seriously thanks SOO MUCH guys for the help so far
someday i hope to have a CEL free s2k

This is just a mileage counter. Don't let it confuse the issue. It's easy to reset (see owner's manual or the FAQs).
Do the valve adjust. Won't hurt. Hopefully, you won't have to go to the final step, which could be the ECU.

my s2k really gave me a scare today. I still havent been able to get the cel off yet and today it started flashing!!!! So i immediatley turned into the closest parking lot and turned it off. With the honda dealership not open today or tomorrow i wasnt sure what to do. I let sit there a while and reset my ecu and drove it home on the way back it began flashing again so i turned it off on the side of the road. I turned it back on to and the light had gone away and hasnt come back on again since this morning.

I checked with the previous owner and he said he had the valves adjusted last year around 75k when he had the timing chain tensioners replaced. So with it not being valvelash im not sure what else to try.
and i def didnt like when it started flashing today?

should i try a map sensor? any others ideas

You need someone who knows how to read fuel trim, to determine the cause of the misfire. This is an easy fix. You'll easily be able to determine if the engine is lacking fuel, or getting too much (from a skewed reading from any number of sensors such as the map).

I can't believe you've been to two dealers and they can even fix a simple misfire. That is sad!

So where in NY are you?

i know..im paying them to tell me what i already know...misfires in all four clys. Im in jamestown ny just south of buffalo

Cant the dealer read fuel trim? idont understand why they havent been able to tellme if im too rich or lean. Im guessing its on the lean side, doesnt seem to be blowing smoke but tips are pretty back.
