Check engine light
So last Friday before Homecoming I got my test pipe from Invidia. I ran it that night and it was fine so I thought that the light would never pop up(i did think it was going to pop up because its a test pipe, maybe not enough back presure, not regonize the amount of air going through)then today driving around getting some El pollo loco, on the way home BOOM it pops up and i say $HIT!!...what should I do? should I go back and put the cat back on?...what is really wrong? is there a way for me to hook it up and just clear the code?..is there an override to this?..anyone has had the same problem?...help me out!
thanks in advance
Nah I think you're being unnecessarily concerned. First, check the code to ensure it is the test pipe and not a different CEL coming up by coincidence.
There are guides for the best way to solve this, but basically you must pull the O2 sensor more away from the stream of the exhaust flow. Buy a pair of "spark plug anti-foulers" and drill one out to accommodate the O2 sensor being screwed into it. Then try screwing that assembly into the exhaust bung. If this still trips a code, screw the second anti-fouler between the bung and the drilled-out fouler.
It's not a big deal, don't freak out
