Default check engine light because of spoon thermo???

my check engine light has been on now for a while i kept checking the gas cap because that has happened before to me. so at my work we checked it with an obd comp and it came up as coolent thermostat? i have a spoon thermostat and fan switch, and i know that normaly wouldn't throw a check engine light so i am guessing i have a bad one. can any one comment?

What DTC Code was set??

Could be the cap, fan connection, or failure to bleed the system properly after installing the thermostat.

I have had my Spoon thermo and switch for over 20,000 miles. Never a CE light.

You might want to check and make sure that one of the coolant lines from the install hasn't come lose. Also check the seal arounf the themrostat housing for leaks.

I think is because your thermostate open too soon and the ECU see that it's not the normal operation temperture. We had a S2000 came in to our shop with the same problem.
