Default Please help! Check Engine light!

I have an 05 and i keep getting a check engine light after i reset it, in about 20-50 miles of driving.

It says something about coolant/Thermostat below operating temp or something.

I had a J's Fan Switch, Greddy Ult Emanage and Spoon Thermostat in the car.

We tried unplugging emanage and light came back on.
We tried putting stock Fan Switch back in the car and light came back on...

So now i am driving around and the only mod i have to the cooling system is my Spoon Thermostat...

Could a thermostat be throwing my light?

The emanage is hooked up again, but i can't see how it would be that either...

Someone help me!

I need to get my car inspected and it is pissing me off to no end.

Matt

i had this code on my car as well. it ended up being a bad thermostat.

"coolant temp below operating temperature"

my car would take alot longer to warm up. so i swapped out the thermostat and now it warms up normally without a check engine light.

is there really any advantage to the spoon thermostat?

if i take the thermo out, should i put my J's Racing fan switch back in or leave it stock?

Currently your spoon thermostat is causing a CEL. Not much advantage in that.

If you look at it as a process of elimination the spoon t-stat is the only thing left that could be causing it. I agree with changing out the theromistat and keeping the fan switch in.

Hey, I can confirm that it is the Spoon themostat that is causing the coolant temp below operating temperature check engine light. I just put the Spoon thermostat in my car and I get the CEL if it's cold outside (usually driving on the freeway because my engine drops to 3-4 bars).

I like the advantage of having my engine cooler but is there a such thing as "too cool?" On local roads I run 5-6 bars (160-167 degrees) but on the freeway I drop down to 3-4 bars (147-153 degrees). Is that too cold?

Also, if I get a CEL because of this, will I experience degraded performance until I get it cleared?
