Ok, here is the truth about this car. UNiT_xEr0 brought his car to my shop and explained it has misfire codes and after driving it I can feel it missing at high RPM intermittently. He has been to 6 different shops, paid hundreds in compression tests, leak down tests, coil packs, spark plugs prior to coming into my place.
Fact:
Compression test #s Cyl 1 - 220psi, 2 - 205psi, 3 - 210psi, 4 - 240psi.
Leak down test #s Cyl 1 - 8% leakage, 2 - 12%, 3 - 8%, 4 - 3%
So you ask WTF, why is this still missing? Car does not over heat what so ever. 6 others couldn't figure it out, but we could hear water bubbling noises in the motor when doing the leak down test. I confirmed it was the head gasket that was causing the misfire because while I did the leak down I took off the radiator cap and found the coolant bubbling from the air we were putting down the cylinder. The gasket was not completely blown to make the car over heat, but just enough to mist water into the combustion chamber and cause misfire. After we pulled off the head, it was very apparent the gasket was leaking water/coolant because the exhaust valves were all rusty red color.
The OP got a PM from a very reputable NY mechanic here on s2ki telling him to change out his RETAINERS to Ap2! WTF? LMOA! The car is a 2004 Ap2! This is what happens when you try to internet diagnose cars! JUST DON'T DO IT, cuz you're wrong. Hahaha WTF does retainers have to do with misfire or a head gasket!

I have always stated broken retainers show no symptoms at all. Not even the slightest noise.
I also think whoever stated that should be called out. They are obviously incompetent.
