So I just noticed a maint required light on after I was flying on the free way in 3rd @9k rpm and I shifted.. into second . It reved hard for like a split second then I put my clutch in. No check engine after that but when I was driving the next day I saw it blinking on 2nd gear. I switched gears and it went away. Now On startup I notice it blinking for like 5 seconds then turn off.

Only engine mod is berk headerback with test pipe. Thats what I thought the check engine light was from but I never noticed it on until that incident, miss shift. My car is at 75k miles and is a 01.

By the way, ANYTIME a CEL is flashing you stop and turn off the car.

Agreed. Buy a cheap ~$10 scanner so that if this happens and you do have to turn off the car (to play it safe) that at least you can know the code in as little as 1 minute. Then start her back up if it's something not terribly serious.
