Default 'check fuel cap' indicator

This indicator came on today. I checked it and it was tight. Broke out the owners manual, it said to do what I did and then hit the RESET to clear it and return to the odometer readout. Are they talking about the same reset that you hit to clear the trip? If so, I did that and it did not clear. Although if I hit the button only once, it will toggle back to the odometer, but will come back on the next time I start the car. HELP! How do I make this stupid thing go away?!?!?!

Update, now it's been on for 4 days and has not reset. Any clue as to how to reset it? Any help would be appreciated.

Pull the fuse under the dash and leave it out for 30 seconds then replace.Have a look in the FAQ for details of the correct fuse.

Pull the "back up" fuse (#16 I think..check your manual) and put it back. See if that work.

i get this cel almost every other fill up. annoys the hell out of me cause it comes on just before the half-way point. I just remove the cap and put it back on and the cel disappears a day after.
