Default Check Fuel Cap message

Hi, I got this message today in place of where it normally displays the time and mileage. I shut off the car, checked the fuel cap and then restarted the car, but the message pops up again. I had to remove the positive terminal on the battery to reset and after that the message is gone. Has anyone else come into this problem?

Did you make sure you had the cap click three or more times. Well if anything, it's going to go away in a few days because the same thing happened to me.

Yeah, it should go away. If not, bring it to the dealer and they will clear it. Mine stayed on for about 4 days, and I ended up bringing it to the dealer.

when u disconnect the positive sparks will jump, and could possibly ignite any combustible gases that the battery gives off, its a safety thing, always disconect the negative first, then positive. and when reconnecting, always positive first, and negative last
