Chirping/Squeaking from Crank area! S2K Gurus help me
Back story, noise appeared after swapping out my front timing covers (Had one tapped for turbo return, went back to stock). I went through the normal procedures of checking the pulleys, condition of belt, etc.
Replaced bearings in idler and tensioner pullies and even tried out new idler/tensioner pullies, new belt, etc. None of that fixed the noise, the next step was to remove the serp belt and run the car to see if noise was still present... which it was
I was hoping the noise was a result of a failing crank pulley/harmonic balancer so I ordered a new crank pulley from Honda and replaced my oldish worn one, the noise subsided briefly but came back later in the day.
I plan on pulling the timing cover back off to see if anything looks out of place behind it but at this point, I have no idea what could be causing the noise. Sound increases with increase RPMs Video of noise attached.

Took a stethoscope to the cover and noise seems to definitely be coming from the lower end near the crank/pulley. Pulled the timing cover and nothing looks out of place, everything is secure.

John at LHT has an excellent DIY video on how to make your S2000 shift better. It is essentially a video that shows you how to perform maintenance on your shifter by dismantling it , cleaning it, replacing the plastic carriage and plastic ball guide and then re-greasing it and putting it back together. I just did it to my AP1 and it worked great. Warning, you will need a 2nd pair of hands when putting back together. You need somebody to hold the shifter down while you attempt to re-install the 3 bolts. Also, use a heat gun to soften the plastic to both remove the old ones and put on the new ones.
