Good luck, if your gears look good and the only thing looking to be the problem is the LSD PM me I have a few
They are not hard to install and I will give you a "how to install"

Bought a diff today from an 05 with 20k miles on it for $475. Ordering J's 2 way LSD and 4.44 final drive UMM this is getting expensive lol.

Check out the chunk when my diff took a crap...And my core/housing was actually ok. Somehow this broke after a normal 1-2 shift. Must have been fatigued from all the track time. Its funny because it makes your chunks look pathetic

my diff is making a clunking noise when i go around turns as well. It sounds like the prop shaft is stopping for a second, then starting to move again. The diff makes no noise, at any other time, and has made the noise for at least 2-4k miles... Is that the same kinda noise you heard? I am running LE607, or whatever the name of the older LE stuff

Mine did the same thing for about 1 year to a year and a half before it finally broke. But the clunk was only audible at parking lot speeds (6-13) and only while turning...like into a parking spot.

Silver9k lol yeah your chunk is much bigger, but its the same part of the LSD that broke.

Soul Coughing Mine was doing the same thing. I drag raced, typically launching at 7k. And I brag about chirping third on the street Haha bound to happen sooner or later. I think the AP1 LSD's are just weak, they did change them didn't they?

Nothing unusual up to the point when it broke. I just had a clunking for the longest time, and never knew what it was (I firsted noticed the clunking after a day at the autox). I changed the diff fluid and nothing was on the drain plug, it looked clean, the diff made no other weird or new noises. So I just let it be, I figured it would blow up someday and was saving for a new diff...then it happened to just give out while I was driving around one day. I wasn't more then 5-6 miles from home, so I drove it back with it simply making a rediculously loud whining noise. I ordered a new diff from HTG swapped the diff's, opened mine up and found the problem.

For me it was not part of the LSD at all. That is actually almost a full tooth off of the pinon gear. Or about 3/4 of the tooth.

But yes AP1 diffs are pretty weak, I now have 4.57 rear gears and comptech reinforced ends...no problems at all.
