Chunky diff fluid
I posted https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...ic=528482&st=0 a couple weeks ago when my diff started to whine. I changed the fluid and found 1 tiny little piece, maybe half the size of a pencil lead. It started to pop a little when leaving from a stop a couple days ago. Then it finally let go last night. I didn't blow out the casing, but you can tell the gears are fubar'd. At least she gave me a little warning so I could locate a replacement diff.

I'm in nearly the same boat except that I just changed to the LE gear oil and about a week later I have a click coming from the diff. Hmmmm I think I'll stick with the Mobile stuff from now on. It's just too coincidental.
edit: actually, it may be the prop shaft... I don't know. I guess I'll just drive it around until it breaks.

Honda recommends a straight SAE 90 GL-5 for the diff.
Read your manual!
LE-607 is exactly that.
Read the label
The pinion pushes the ring away when accelerating, that puts stress on the LSD bearings, their caps and the bolts holding them pressed onto the bottom part.
Oil with the proper EP (Extreme Pressure) rating will lubricate better during those extreme pressure moments and generate less of those forces.
Less is always better in this case.
LE-607 or LE-1605 is THE oil for the S2000 diff.

Whelp my diff may have just blown too. Went to the drags got some wheel hop on my first attempt at launching (only at 4k...though with the 2.5) and boom. Something is broken, whether its the diff, tranny, or axles...the car will not move under its own power and makes a horrible noise when slipping the clutch

I was being serious. Diff is gone.

All you have to do is have some body put it in first and let the clutch out while you watch the drive shaft, diff and axles. If the drive shaft spins but the axles don't then you know it's the diff. If there is diff fluid all over the place then it's likely you case is broke.
