Default cleaning HID bulbs?

First experience for me mucking around with HIDs. I removed all the bulbs in preparation of swapping with another member for his clear'd units.

I know with the normal bulbs on my other cars, it's fine to clean them if touched accidentally with rubbing alcohol. Same thing okay with HID bulbs? Not doing it just to do it, I think I did touch one of them briefly, accidentally, so I just want to be sure.

the oil for from your fingers is bad for halogen bulbs as well. It wlll lead to premature failure.

the oil burns and burns the outer lens of the bulb forcing small pressure out untill WAM either the bulb died or the bulb explodes. had both happen.
