Default Click at low rpm help please

Hey my car makes a clicking sound sometimes. So far its only 1 click. Normally when driving off in first gear or when i release the gas. I checked the axle nut. Torqued it at 220lb but it didn't move then i went to 230 nothing sill then 250 and it still didn't move. it seems as if its been torqued pretty hard since it didn't move at all. What else could be my problem for it causing the clicking noise. please help if you can Thanks

Stupid question: Did you remove the cotter pin before trying to re-torque them? I have read that the axle splines can click when they get dry. I would say the next step for you is to actually remove the axle nuts, re-grease the splines and install new axle nuts.
