Default Click from rear of car

Well,

I have the click from the rear when I take off in forward or reverse(not all the time). I had Honda look at it, and they did the axle regrease / tighten nut bolts, etc. and that didn't fix the problem, but it is "better"... I have not verified this myself.

They want to tear apart the differenetial, but since I have a supercharger they will not cover it under warranty. I had this slight click before I even installed the supercharger, so I know that wasn't the cause of the click.

I did however have the differential fluid changed. If they put the incorrect fluid in, would it cause this issue?

Anyone have any ideas what it could be? Thanks.

I'm calling honda now to find out what exactly they put in my car. This is just a hunch, but I'll update this when I find out.

I have it also, mine appears to be coming from the driver side rear wheel. Normally iI hear it after I have reversed the car and am beginning to move forward.

A while ago someone had a similar problem. A clicking sound that came from the rear wheel. Honda more or less rebuilt the rear end of the car, but the sound persisted. When the mechanic removed the rear wheels for what might have been the hundredth time, the mechanic noticed that the wheel weight was loose. The weight was removed, and replaced with a new one. This simple fix cured the problem.

Check your wheel weights. Have your wheels rebalanced and the weights replaced.

Ralper, I'm soooo stupid.
I remember this story now from when it was told the first time. It completely skipped my mind. Thanks for coming in on this.

Not at all Dave. You've forgotten more than I know. Glad to be of help.

I got the car back and I don't hear the sound anymore. They didn't touch the differential at all, just replaced teh fluid and told me there were no metal shavings which means I've been a good boy

I will check out the wheel weights, and have them rebalanced. Thanks!

sure it's not the infamous axle nut creak?

I posted a question on this 6 mos ago and got a bunch of replies right away. Maybe do a search on "axle creak or click".

Dealer replaced a couple bad parts (under warranty) on my rear axle and click/creak is gone. I believe it is an offical service bulletin.
