Thanks for the help - If I had to ask a mechanic to do it, what would I say?

You'd ask him to swap the left and right Inner CV Hubs which each other, re-pack both hubs with new synthetic grease, and replace the rubber boots while he's got it apart.
CHECK OUTER CV JOINT AKA RZEPPA JOINT FOR THE "CLICK CLICK CLICK" WHILE TURNING IN LOW SPEEDS.
USUALLY IF IT MAKES NOISE DURING RIGHT TURN, ITS LEFT RZEPPA JOINT, IF MADE DURING LEFT TURN, ITS RIGHT RZEPPA JOINT

I see you guys keep referring to clicking when turning, mine happens when reversing up a steep incline - I get a random click, click, click - OR when I pull away fast-ish, I sometimes get a single click - is this the same thing?
a single click when you take off or stop is probably a ball joint in the rear. I have fixed several cars with this issue.
its a pain to fix, you cant get the lower ball joint separate from honda, you have to get the whole spindle, which means new wheel bearing, etc, etc
I just picked up my S2000 last friday and its making the noise, i checked its defiantly the lower ball joint.
to check have someone closely look at the lower ball joint, quickly engage the clutch and if the spindle moves seperatly from lower control arm then its the ball joint. sometimes you can use a pry bar between the lower arm and spindle to check the ball joint as well.
