clicking noise from rear
After having a laugh reading this I am a little paranoid about posting. I hope my question is not a combination of points 1A and 2
Car: MY04, ~9000 miles. Oild changed twice, diff. (LE-607) and tranny fluid(Honda MTF) changed once.
The clicking noise is not consistent, it appears to present itself after longer drives. The first time i noticed it was in a parking structure going about 5-10 mph. It appears to be coming from driver's side behind me. I examined the area for debris, cleaned and found none--today I heard the clicking sound when pulling into the parking area at work. It is not the click when the rear brakes line up, it usually happens when I back up from parking space and move forward (I could be wrong though).
Quick search lead me to believe Spindle nut might be the issue.
But, before I call the dealer to find out what's going on I would like to hear your suggestions and get a detailed list of items the dealer should examine--I believe the UTH is far more experienced than any dealer I have spoken with and I would prefer to give them more details instead of just asking them to check the diff. and brakes. Please let me know if you've experienced similar issue.
Thanks!

I dont really know offhand what it could be, so someone else more knowledgeable could post.
However, with the car still being under warranty, I'd have no second thought about taking it in to honda to have it looked at. especially the diff.

The hub (spindle) nut thing is a very likely cause of the noise. As my colleague indicated, if the car is still under warranty, let them fix it. There may be other reasons for this clicking but they are less likely - loose wheel weight, bearing going bad, ABS component slightly out of alignment, rock or nail in tread (checked tire pressures lately?), CV joint, rear diff.
Go for the obvious first. Worry about the worst case scenarios later.
I had a light ticking sound on the right rear side a couple of weeks ago. I also noticed that my right rear tire was 15 psi low on air. I took it to a tire shop and had them pull a nail out and plug the tire. $10. Hope your problem is as simple.
I though the spindel nut problem was only with 00 models (like mine, I had the problem). After that they changed the torque specs from 180 to 225 I think.
Hope its simple... mine car always clicks, last time i changed my rear brake pads i put anti-squeel everywhere on the pad EXCEPT where it contacts the caliper

Just as a precaution, I will be checking it this spring anyway.
