Default Clicking noise under the dash every 8 seconds

Today the car was idling for several minutes, when every few seconds I'd hear this clicking noise. At first I thought it was the wind blowing my keys, but I held my keys, and the clicking still continued. It is coming from underneath the steering wheel. It happens every 8 seconds. It happens at idle and when I'm driving. I tried pushing almost every button but it still continues. The car still has Honda Care. Should I just take it to the dealer, and let them worry about it? Will there be a charge? Or should I try to fix it myself?

Don't confuse this post as me saying you have something wrong (because I can't tell you what this clicking is or if it's bad) but it's a bit difficult to "fix" something that you don't even know what it is.

So what do you suggest xviper? Do I just take it to the dealer?

That's the time bomb I installed in your car.

I might get under the dash and have a look around. See if you can tell what might be making the ticking sound.

If you are not able to narrow it down, then I would take it to a dealer. If i didn't have a warranty (and I don't) mabey you can get someone at a local meet to listen to it and see if they can diagnose it.

Problem is fixed.

I was autocrossing today, and during one of my runs apparently I hit the Windshield washers lever, and put it on the intermittent setting, so every 8 seconds, it would run the windshield wipers. The only issue was that I removed my wipers, so I never saw them move. That was clicking every time the wipers wiped the window.

This is great! Can you imagine how much the dealer would have HOSED you before they found out it was the delay switch on the wipers?

Good thing I didn't end up taking it to the dealer. I would have probably ended up on their idiot of the month wall.
