Default Noise from ? behind the dash. Help

Hi all.
I have recently bought a brand new '03 (UK spec). I have done 1,200 miles. I can now hear a noise. It sounds as if it is coming from behind the dash, from where the start button is. I can only hear it when I go very slowly, especially when I stop and start in slow traffic or when I come down a multi-storey car park. It sounds like "lock-lock", lock-lock". I initially thought it was the car keys but it is not. I have excluded the roof, the seat belt buckles, the spare tyre etc. I looked under the dash in the driver's side. There are millions of wires and fuses. Nothing obvious. I am not sure it is from there anyway. Anybody had this? Please help!

I know the car is under warranty but dealers are useless.

rule # 1 - you are now driving a sports car, you should get used to hearing sounds from various places. funny part is they are altering their places.. so you may have that lock-lock this week and tick-tick from the softtop next week.

anyways, for example my S makes a similar noise only when I downshift and make a left turn pulling up my driveway... my suspicion is volume button getting loose...

regards,
