CEL light will blink when serious damage is done. I think manual advises NOT to use the car when CEL is blinking. Not sure about the EPS but I have a feeling that the blinking it like Morse code for the EPS error.

The easiest way imo to reset the code (which wouldn't help much on your occasion as you want to read the code now!) is to use the TORQUE app (downloadable from Google play but you need to pay $5 bucks! - totally worth it though as it has a number of handy features plus it reads the codes so you can't go wrong! You will break even before even buying it)
