Default clunk after gear changes

Hi guys, i'd like to ask your help about this problem that i am encountering. I am getting a clunk, noise, from the drivetrain when i change gears. To be more specific, i press the clutch, select the gear, depress clutch, and then when i press the throttle again comes the clunking noise along with a slight "kick". I can prevent it if i synchronize the throttle with the clutch while depressing, but it's something i'd like to fix. Engine and gearbox mounts are replaced with genuine Honda parts 5 months ago aprox and installed along with an NRG engine torque damper. Where should i look at? It's a 2001 AP1 with 70k miles aprox.

Check your diff bushings/mounts and for play in your diff.

They look ok visually, i don't see any leaks or serious cracking in the rubber. But i don't know if it has leaked in the past and then washed by the previous owner. Recomendations on how to better check except for the visual inspection while parked? Will it show up if i lift the rear from the diff?

You should be able to feel along the driver side rear diff mount with your hand/feeler gauge/etc. It will have big crack. For me it was on the top side.

Diff mounts are fine. So i guess i need to check the diff itself for play. The problem is, what is acceptable play and what not? I don't have any previous experience with the S2k diffs

Also check for driveshaft play. There have been a few that had pinion nut come loose. Can cause what you are experiencing.
