Default clunking and grinding

a little background: have owned my S for 6 weeks now, it is a MY03 with 43,000 miles.

ive noticed that when im starting from a stop, i get this one loud "CLINK" sound right after the tranny and engine are hooked up and my foot is completely off the clutch...i also have the common issue where if i am taking a turn while in neutral at low speeds, i get this "Clink Clunk Clink Clunk" sound...although the tone is a lot deeper than in the previously mentioned problem....and finally i feel like i am hearing a grinding sound when accelerating or decelerating past 4K rpms.....i realize the whole neutral turning sound is more than likely just the spindle nuts needing replacement and heavier torquing...but does anyone have an input on the other 2 issues?

The only help I can offer is to post this in Under the Hood as well.

People will ask you to post video / audio and ask questions like:

Same clunk on right and left turns?

It's going to be either CV or differential.

Moving to UTH.

I had a similar issue when neutral turning. My LSD had gone bad. My sound was a very unsymetrical clunking sound from the drive shaft. It only happend with the clutch disengaged, turning L or R. If your sound is similar, you may want to look there. You may want tp PM Puddyregarding diffs. He rocks and is fixing mine now.

Make a left and a right turn while in neutral. If you here a clicking sound when in either turn then the LSD is causing the issue.

I would back off the axle nut of each rear wheel then, re torque down to 220 foot pounds.
Drive the car and see/here if any of your noises go away.

The grinding clicking sound going straight can also be a fractured pinion..

If you don't get any help or find what you are looking for, take it to the shop. If you can't afford to get it fix, you shouldn't have gotta the S in the first place. Stop your hatin and whiney ... if you don't like this forum then you should find a different one.

right, because on any good forum, the members can diagnose all of your problems without ever seeing or hearing the car

the first 2 symptoms are likely the same issue. try the axle nut re-torque, and see what that does for you.

the grinding sound, i don't have any guesses. there is significant clutch buzz during in-gear deceleration on AP1s, but otherwise
