Clutch Buzz Recall
so i finally read through all the TSB's (was looking up other things) and i realized that I have clutch buzz.. I thought nothing of it and just assumed it was from the tranny being directly underneath that caused the buzz/vibration upon deceleration from high RPMs. so how do i bring this to the dealer if im out of warranty?
im looking to sell my car soon, and would love to have the next owner enjoy the car without any issues at all.

anyone have any experience bringing in a car for goodwill warranty? especially on a long and tedious job like taking out the tranny? (i would love to watch since its normally me under the car with coolant/oil/brake fluid and whatnot dripping on my face)

After the warranty period this repair is sometimes done as a good-will gesture usually for a good dealership customer with a car less than five years old. You can ask but it is unlikely you will find anyone interested doing it for free. Plan on a $800 clutch replacement quote.
Like said above, good luck. Clutch buzz wasn't a recall, just a service bulletin to advise technicians and service writers what to look for if someone came in complaining about a buzzing sound. I give you a 2.9% shot of getting it fixed for free now.
I had the clutch TSB performed on my first S2000 (MY 2000) when it was about 30 months old with 31k miles on it. It was free back then, but I'll be very surprised if you can manage a goodwill replacement now.
The clutch noise abated dramatically ... for a while ... and returned after about 5k miles of driving, though not nearly as loud as it had been.

I replaced the disk in my '00 at about 35k miles, but the car was 5 years old by then. Two years and about 15k miles later, the noise still hasn't come back. But then, if the original disks had all rattled and buzzed within 15k, they'd have all been a warranty repair.

It does not have any adverse effect on performance or functionality of the clutch, it's just an annoying sound, particulalry when decelerating. A clutch under light to moderate use should last over 100k miles, so change it out when it wears out or if you can't stand the buzz any more.
The clutch on my 2003 is beginning to get a little noisy, but still nothing like the 2000.
