Default Is this clutch buzz or transmission buzz?

I notice the buzz when I decelerate in 4th gear and not any other gear. And as expected of a clutch buzz, when the clutch is pressed, the noise goes away. Is it clutch buzz when the noise occurs only in 4th gear? I don't get any buzz in any other gears.

Also, sometimes [not every time], when I am accelerating fast in 4th gear and stomp on the clutch and put the gear into neutral and start decelerating in neutral, i hear the same noise... and pressing the clutch or releasing the clutch doesn't do anything to get rid of that same buzz while i'm slowing down in neutral.

And just 2 hours ago, i heard the same buzz while accelerating in 5th gear for the first time ever

Is this clutch buzz or transmission buzz or something else i'm unaware of? And if it is transmission buzz, is it covered under warranty for MY06?

Mine does the same thing!!!! Someone answer! Mine buzzes on accel too... but only after I got a new clutch. Also, if I am going slow in first gear and push in the clutch to put the car into nutruel, it clanks really really bad ...

Can the claim about timing chain tensioner be verified? I probably doubt this, but this isn't covered for AP2 2006 models right? There's only 1 tsb for the 06, and it's not related

Yeah, I don't think it's related to engine, but rather the transmission or differential.

Anyone have a similar situation?

Hey people,

ALL AP1'S have this problem. It's a manufacturing fault that's been covered by Honda's notice board thingy. It comes from the Flywheel and it's nothing to worry about. I have the same noise, many other people have this noise and you'll also notice you'll get it louder when the air-con is on.

Good news is that if your car is under warranty, you can claim it and get a new flywheel/clutch. My AP1 has 130,000km (80,000miles) and nothings gone wrong (except my roof and radiator).

Hope this helps.

Ps. Outside the car, it sounds sick whent he noise is on!!!

Thanks romaniac85 for the flywheel info. Unfortunately my car is an AP2 06 model, so there's almost no TSB's covering it. I don't think this is covered under warranty? I don't want them to diagnose it just to say sorry it is not covered by warranty
