Default Clutch engagement moved

Two days ago I noticed my clutch pedal engagement moved. It used to engage/disengage within the first 2-3 inches of movement, but now I have about 6 inches of free play, then the final two inches until it hits the maximum point is where it is now. The clutch does not slip. Any ideas? I was thinking about changing the fluid on Friday to see if it makes a difference.

The only good part about this is the S is going in the garage Friday for the winter, so nothing is urgent!

I'm running a bit over 300whp with a CTSC kit, 108k miles, and no idea if the OEM clutch has ever been changed out. I do know that it's not slipping, and if anything, the engagement is smoother and easier now.

What he said... I did my clutch fluid about 2 weeks ago because my clutch started trippin mad balls. Anyway once i did do it, the clutch fluid was WAY black, i dont think i saw more dirty oil than the one that was in there (got the car not too long ago so the old owner didnt change it out). There was a lot of air in the lines as well and it started happening once the colder weather came along. Anyway... change the fluid lol

Except for a couple of things - how did this happen to begin with? Was the fluid low when the problem began? Was there trash in the fluid? When had it been changed?

I've no doubt the bleed/add fixed the problem. I'm just curious as to the cause.

Problem began Monday. I check all my fluids Saturday's just to be on top of everything. Fluid was still full after this began. Hopped in the car, pressed the clutch, and felt it was wrong. It was black just like it should have been, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Car has 108k on it, and I doubt it had ever been changed. It was dealer maintained until 68k, and I don't believe the PO did anything else but routine maintenance.

Clutch is perfect now. Can I change the actual engagement point? It's at the complete top of the clutch, within the first 2 inches. The opposite of where it was before bleeding. Can I get it closer to the middle?

Yes, you can make adjustments to the clutch pedal. Have a look here:

Be sure to pay attention to the warnings about shortening throw etc.

I'd say your clutch is about worn out. Adjusting the pedal may help for a while but sooner rather than later you'll need to replace it.
