Default clutch engagement point question.

I took an S2000 for a test drive (05 w/ 19k miles). the clutch engaged about 1" from the top of the clutch. Normally i would expect it to catch about an inch off of the floor, not 1" off the top....

any opinions... does the pedal just need adjusted, or is that a sign of clutch wear and this is about done?

thanks.

Same with mine, I thought something was wrong although it does sometimes get softer near the floor.

thanks for the answers... i assumed it would be near the floor....not near the end of the range up top....

could it have an aftermarket clutch? the dealership offered that as a possible answer...???

I guess it could have an aftermarket clutch, but the engagement point is accurate and consistent with a stock clutch as well.
