Default Clutch Operation Question

A couple of weeks back my wifes clutch engagement point pratically hit the floor, so I thought it was a bleeding problem and figured I flush the whole system. After bleeding the rear wheels and getting the clutch the pedal fell to the floor once I opened the bleed screw, and it wouldnt bleed no matter how hard I tried. So I pulled the slave, and needless to say it came out in two pieces and needed to be replaced. The holiodays came and went, and I received the new slave and went to install it today, and was having a hard time getting the knob compressed and on to the clutch arm, and even bled when not installed. I used a mighty vac, and even tried manually actuating the arm back and forth and to no avail was I able to get any fluid to come out of the bleed valve. Anyway, that's another issue, but if you have any ideas about that I'm all ears.

When I pulled the slave and boot I noticed that the clutch arm was not spring loaded or anything and could just be pushed back and forth. When pushed forward there is a hard stop at the end point of travel, and I just wanted to know if that was normal or if there was something wrong.

I took a video for your evaluation:

This is my first time working on the cluch of the S2K, but thought it was odd for clutch operation, and figured I would ask the experts.

I'm no expert, but that seems normal as far as I can remember when I lubed my clutch fork... You can actually pull that out with little force.

Looks normal to me as well. When you push it towards the front of the car and it stops, that's the point at which the throwout bearing starts to pull on the pressure plate. The other direction (to the back of the car) moves the bearing away from the pressure plate. (not really but you get the idea, its normal to have a little free play that way) Totally normal.

No offense but what are you talking about bleeding the rear wheels? That's the brakes. Sounds like you just needed to adjust the clutch adjustment nut located on the clutch pedal. At the top sticky section under FAQ you can find clutch adjustment advice from Billman. The action in the video is normal and is just the motion between the fork and throw out bearing. It will be solid when the slave is attached. Bleed the clutch (another FAQ) and adjust the pedal.
