Pretty much no to answer your question. Clutch is hydraulic and you can't really back off the pedal adjustment much else you won't fully disengage the disc. Maybe the clutch is on the way out?

There are a couple of things that you can do. First have you bled your clutch. Look in the DIY section. Second you can adjust the pedal on the car. If you look at the pedal there is a shaft that comes out of the piston and two locking nuts. I think it is a 10 mm. Loosen the locking nut and turn the shaft in which ever direction you need to. I moved it a couple of turns at a time and then tried it. This will change were the clutch grabs.

Let us know how it goes.

IF you have the manual, theres actually like 3 adjustments you can do to the clutch pedal. it also has the fac specs as to what each should be. i would pick up that book, it has saved me plenty of times. just about the only thing that book sent me wrong on was suspension install. it said to pop lower ball joint, but the easier way was to pull upper control arm

I wanted mine to enage closer to me. It took about ten minutes total. Just have the car running make a small adjustment at a time and see how it feels. When you get it were you think you want go for a drive and see. It is very easy!

Good luck. Let us know.
