Default Clutch problems

My 2001 S2K will only go into gear when my car is on the lift (off of the ground). As soon as the slightest amount of weight is applied to the wheels it stops going into any gear. while on the lift it can be driven through all gears. This problem started immediately after another problem. I was driving and decided to go wot to pass a cluster of vehicle to make a turn. A little after the engagement of vtec my car stopped accelerating and the rpms shot to redline. I hit the clutch and exited the gear. After the that there was a whine when transitioning between the clutch and gas pedal. I took it to my mechanic, then he proceeded to remind me of the dust boot that attaches to the transmission case and covers the slave cylinder rod that had deteriorated. I didn't recall this but the dust boot was completely gone and apparently water was getting into the case due to recent heavy rains. The release bearing had rust on the portion that the fork sits on. He did what he had to do to take care of that, but shortly after the car would not go into gear during his test drive. I met with him and my car and drove it back to the shop by starting it in third gear and riding in third back to the shop. Since then the hydraulic system has been bled in every way from power to gravity, both new oem slave and master cylinders have been replaced with two different slave and master O'Reilly cylinders, and pedal and pedal bracket has been adjusted. When replacing the slave cylinder for a second time due to air rapidly entering the system we noticed leaks at the crush washers replaced this but it still will not go into gear. reinstalled the oem master cylinder clutch feels better but same problem. Tomorrow he will reinstall the oem slave cylinder to see if that helps. I just wanted to know if anyone had ever heard of a car entering all gears with no problem while wheels are off the ground, but not when wheels are touching and, if this has been encountered, what was the cause of the problem and the fix. Thanks in advance, and sorry about the drawn out description.

Stage 2 Competition Clutch, Lightweight Flywheel, OEM Release Bearing

Just wanted to add that my thoughts about the fact that everything working fine when on the lift, are that when the car is started with the drive wheels off the ground the wheels spin giving forward momentum helping the car enter the gear.

Your clutch is not properly disengaging. That is why it will go into gear when the wheels are not on the ground. Very common and very easy explanation.

You should check the pedal freeplay and adjust it as needed.

If adjusting freeplay doesn't help...

You have a Comp clutch. So that means a disc or pressure plate spring may be broken and preventing the disc from disengaging from the flywheel/pressure plate.

Always buy a Honda Genuine disc, bearings, and grease (from a Honda dealer) unless the car makes enough power to warrant buying something more aggressive.

If you really do need something more aggressive, competition clutch is probably not the right place to look.

As B Serious mentioned, your best bet is a ACT pressure plate and oem clutch disc. This setup is good for 350+ horsepower. We offer the ACT pressure plate for $359 not including shipping.
