So I've had this strange noise going on for about a month or so...finally took it to Honda after realizing I didnt have a clue what it was. Turns out it's the throw-out-bearing and Honda wants $1200 to replace the clutch/etc. Am I safe to just drive it until the clutch goes? Anyone had this problem before?

The mechanic gave me a number to a guy who could do it for probably 1/2 the cost so that's nice, and I work at Infiniti so I'm sure I could pay one of my mechanics to do it, but this just seems strange..never heard this on any other car and I've worked at Infiniti for 7 years.
