Clutch Replacement Help
Hey guys!
I've done a bit of searching around on the topic already, but have turned up with inconclusive answers. I'm a car noob so may questions may not be drafted well.
I need to replace the clutch in an AP1. What do I need to look for? I heard something about some flywheels need to be replaced due to some rubber or something (on certain cars). Do I need to replace my flywheel too? Is there just a kit I can purchase from Honda? I'm not looking to get anything aftermarket.
I hope I made some sense. I typed this in a hurry cuz I'm leaving work right now! Any response would be great! Thanks!

You can usually get a flywheel resurfaced as long as its not worn too badly. I don't think you can get a clutch "kit" from honda but you can get a clutch disc from them. You'll also want to replace the throwout bearing while your in there. If you're going to do the project yourself just take the flywheel in to a machine shop and tell them you want it resurfaced.
It depends on the machine the shop is using. The shop that resurfaced my flywheel had to remove the pegs to do so.
Replacing the clutch was one of the first things I had to do to my s2k. Its worth it to do it yourself, but I highly recommend getting a buddy whos good with cars, get ALL of the required tools for the job because you will need them, and look up some of the DIY guides here as well as any other sites you can find with picture DIY guides.
Learn as much as you can while you do it, and you'll thank yourself and your wallet later.

I'm having a mechanic do it.
I'm looking up the parts on Honda's site.
- Friction Disk
- Pressure Disk
- Bolt 12mm x 8
- Twelve Point Bolt 8mm x 9
- Washer (38X88X2)
- Clutch Pilot Bearing (something like that)
It this all I'm going to need?
