The ACT pressure plate's advantage is it's clamping force it provides like 30% more force holdint the disk tighter and maybe quicker. I have been very happy with my setup which is an ACT pp , stock disk and I cut or resurfaced the stock fly wheel.

So any aftermarket pressure plate will work?

You CANNOT replace just the disc. The CC pressure plate has a lighter clamping load, and relies on the friction material itself to achieve it's bite. That's why the clutch pedal is soft...usually softer than stock. If you change just the disc, you'll get massive clutch slip with the CC pressure plate.

You have to:

Get an oem disc and oem PP, or ACT pressure plate.

the service manual states that resurfacing the flywheel is not recommended.

If you plan on keeping the car, anti up for a lightweight flywheel. ACT, toda, or comptech.

In my book, the flywheel can be resurfaced, but it must be done correctly.

Js s2k has a resurfaced flywheel, looked very nice. Think he may sell it, PM him...it has not been used since resurfacing.
