clutch Slave cylinder
Well i've been driving the last few weeks from a squeak coming from my clutch pedal. It happens both when the pedal is being depressed and then released again. I can feel some resistance through the pedal after the car has warmed up, in the same clutch position when the squeak happens also. which is about half way.
I couldn't tell where it was coming from before but today i decided to look at the problem. I got under the car while someone else pushed the pedal in and out and i found that the sound was coming from the clutch slave cylinder.
My question is will the solution to this problem be replacing the clutch master cylinder or is it possible that i just need to swap my fluid out for some new stuff? It was last changed about 25,000 miles ago and i have 65,000 miles on my car now.
Or is it something else totally that i just don't know about. Any suggestions, opinions or ideas would be great.

It is probably not the slave cylinder, but the fork behind it. If you will do a search you will find a description of how to lube it. Although not as effective and pulling the whole clutch apart for cleaning and lubrication, it can rid the squeek, and is an hour job instead of a ten.
it is the throwout bearing...at least mine was...i had it replaced by my honda dealer for free after trying the slave and the master etc etc...eventually they just replaced my whole assembly...but it was the throwout bearing that was the problem

I went in and took off the slave cylinder and looked at the fork behind it, it was bone dry and almost seemed like a piece of pottery. I got some heavy duty grease and greased it up and the car is just like new again. Even the stickyness that i had before is gone and all i did was grease both sides of the fork.
I'm really glad i tried that before going and replacing the TO bearing. Always better to start small.
