So guys i got a aster and cleared out fluid and refilled pumping the clutch between fills.. got it pretty clear and started the car... pressed clutch down and it stayed down... btw it made a clicking noise when releasing the clutch.. but doesn’t make the throw out bearing grind at all.. with the clutch staying down and car off I was able to pull it up with my hand... now it doesn’t go down all the way with the car off.. any ideas before I go down and look at what’s going on? Car shifts into gears when it’s off fine.. didn’t try to shift into gear with the car running as I do t want to damage anything any more.. replaced the clutch with an oem fcc pressure plate and an exedy stage one or oem replacement about 70k ago.. prior to this the clutch grabbed fine with no issues no slipping.

Well, sounds like something is amiss in the clutch setup. Prolly going to need to remove the transmission & inspect.

Thanks for the reply. Going to replace the clutch. Reading the boards sounds like exedy is trash. And I was able to get 70k out of mine

Car Analogy

Its an exedy? When you drop trans, you will find disk surface still has material, but a spring broke off, and that is causing all the issues.
