Can you still press the pedal to the floor?
Do you feel more resistance at the end of the stroke?
Any extra noise from the clutch while the engine is running, or when you stop the engine?
1-1/2" of fork travel sounds like enough, the master & slave are about the same diameter (right?)

You wouldn't be the first to find part of the clutch disk wedged somewhere stopping the clutch disk from sliding & breaking free from the FW.

Look at the bright side: you'll have the chance to lube the splines and the throwout & guide.
You'll never have crunchy shifts again.

My transmission still shifts like butter. It was quite a surprise when it just let go. I've run the HDSS with the prolite flywheel for almost 60k, so I think I got my moneys worth.

The pedal travel is good. I'm with you on it being a disk failure. I tried to release it with a pry-bar and it did seem harder. I just thought it was because I couldn't get in a good position at first. The bad news is that this is my only car.

That blows man. I'm with ya on the pressure plate. I've dealt with a screwed up faulty pressure plate before. The stock hydraulic system could barely press the damn thing.

Well this was unexpected:

The spring tore the mount apart and lodged itself in one of the holes in my prolite flywheel. The pisser is that it still has .310 of material which is only .005 under the brand new thickness. I've run it at least 60k, but I don't understand this failure. I remember now that I ordered a HDSS setup from an ACT dealer and was a little irked that the disk was exedy. I would have rather an OEM disk.

There are pics on s2ki of OEM disks with simular damage.

Lots of agressive clutch action in the past?

Lots would be an understatement. The oem disk I have looks more substantial, but I guess enough shock loading will break anything. Oh well. Another ornament for the wall of carnage. Happily it didn't ruin anything else.
