Default cold start stall?

Ive recently been having some problems cold starting my S and i was wondering if anyone had any ideas about what might cause this problem. This problem started within the last week, when we in VA had a nice temp drop deep into freezing temps. Whenever i go to cold start my car, the car will start fine and begin to idle at around 2k rpm. However, about 5 seconds after it begins to idle, the rpms drop and the car stalls out. Now, when i go to start it again, it starts and idles fine just like it is suposed to. Like i said this only happens on cold starts where the car has been sitting for a few hours. Just wondering if anyone has a solution to this problem. I dont get any cels and the car drives just like normal after its started.

This is a fairly common occurence and has been posted here lots. It's the ECU not being able to compensate for the climatic and environmental changes that usually occur this time of year. Let it die and don't help it by giving it gas. Hopefully, it will "learn" after a few episodes and in time, it won't do it anymore. Mine did this at the beginning of the first 3 winters. Then the 4th and 5th winter, it didn't do it at all. It had "learned".
However, just in case yours doesn't learn and there may be a real problem, do the MAP whack and ECU reset. If this fixes the problem, then I would suggest that you may be in need of a new MAP sensor and the new securing system that Honda has a TSB out on.

Try parking indoors, i have the same problem but my car is fine otherwise. it only happens when it's been outside, sitting, & it's really cold.

This not just a S2000 thing as my '00 Prelude does the exact same thing in the very cold weather. I just let it die and start it right back up. So far, no problems, and it has 92K miles... If it were to be a problem, I would have expected to have busted by now.
