Ok, so i just bought a used 00'. Now this only happens in the morning when it gets cold. The car starts normal then when you release the starter button, the starter keeps going for atleast 2secs. Sounds like the starter hesitates to retract from the flywheel. does anyone have this problem or even heard of it?? Original owner said it just had a clutch changed before we bought it. thats the only mechanical work ive heard of done to this car. Thanks guys/gurls

 

it could very well be the timing chain tensioner, i know i know. it sounds like a sticking starter but there's alot of confirmed TST problem with the exact same problem.

with the TST problem the grinding happens more often during a cold day/ cold start up.

 

so should it be replaced or left alone??

 

mine makes a simliar noise.....

 

i release the starter button EARLIER than usual and haven't been able to duplicate the problem...

 

So is there anyway to get rid of it?? Anybody else have a solution??
