I would expect so. Where is the engagement point in your pedal stroke? Do you have much free play at the top of the pedal stroke?

I have a bit of free play at the top, but my engagement point is somewhere near the middle of the stroke.

I don't know what else to tell you. Did you just have your tranny or clutch serviced?

Did bArt2 ever get his problem resolved?

I had the EXACT same problem he describes, and was never able to get the dealer to acknowlege it was a problem. And my mileage was about the same too, 33k when it started, 35k first dealer visit, 43k when I could stand no more.

I was forced to pay for a new clutch to fix it, and discovered the clutch hub/tranny main shaft was not lubricated at the factory (I assume so because it was rusted) which was causing the clutch to stick. Even after letters (with photos) to Honda they still denied the claim because "clutches are wear items and not covered under warrenty". Right. What a load of crap.

It was more of a problem in cold weather because clearances were tighter, and got better as the tranny warmed up.

Here's the real test to see if it's the clutch:

1. Park on perfectly level ground.
2. Shifter in neutral, clutch in, start car.
3. Release clutch (shifter still in neutral)
4. Depress clutch, apply pressure to the shifter as if you were shifting to first gear, SLOWLY, and see if the car moves.
5. If it creeps forward at all while applying pressure towards first gear, the clutch is not completely disengaged.

In my case, once you got it in gear, (any gear) you could then shift to any other gear, as long as you kept the clutch on the floor. Once you let the clutch out in neutral, it was hard to put in gear again.

modifry: I have the same problem. 10 says when the TSB was done the dealership didn't clean and re lube the shaft.

I didn't even bother trying to go after the dealership or honda directly since there's no way I could prove it.

It's not a HUGE deal and something I can live with until I replace the clutch. Like someone else posted a quick blip on the throttle once the clutch is depressed works fine.

I'm just hoping I'm not destroying my syncro's too badly. Maybe I'll just replace those 1-2 syncros when I get the new clutch.
