Here are some of the photos from my collision, and repair, which is still in progress. I will add more text and edit it as soon as I get more time.

There was an independent witness who stopped and told me what he saw. He said that someone in a white SUV with Colorado plates slammed on their brakes at a green light, because the left turn lane light changed to red. The van in front of me slammed on the brakes, and only hit the Colorado SUV lightly, and the Colorado SUV took off.

I had glanced down at my watch, just at the wrong time. I was able to lock up the brakes, but I was probably 10 feet away, and travelling around 30mph. I submarined under the van bumper. At least the airbag didn't go off. The car still drove perfectly, but I could hardly see over the smashed hood. The witness even got the license plate number of the Colorado SUV, and said it was totally his fault, but you know how it is in California, if you rear end someone- it's your fault!

As you can see, the damage is to the upper front section, where the hood was peeled back by the van bumper. Because the hood latch remained attached, it pulled back the upper crossmember, which bowed the radiator, and crushed the apron on the driver's side.

The impact wasn't even close to hitting the F20C! I love the way this car is designed.

The fender tucked in behind the door, without damaging it.

This is the crushed driver's side apron.

This is the new apron, after the installation and paint.

Nice work! Notice the new upper crossmember.

Good to see that it's coming along quickly on the shops part. Did you get the hood from Evolution yet?

VTEC Racer-

Jeff at Evo told me that the hood would arrive last Friday. When it didn't, I called him, and he said that when he placed the order, the shipping company told him it would arrive Tuesday, or today (Wednesday), but it didn't. So far the body shop has been held up for 5 days, waiting on the hood. Jeff was apologetic, but I wish that I could get accurate information about my order!

Kodokan_4, you don't happen to also have a photo of the passenger's side area under the nosecone (where the faux brake duct opens, if it were a real brake duct)? If so, can you post it, as well? I just ran ducting through there, without removing the bumper, and I'd love to see what's actually in the cavity. Thanks. Your collision looks rough. Hope you're okay and the car recovers soon.

cbender-I was just checking out your sig. and sounds like you have a badd-ass S2000. Have you had the the chance to run a C5? and if not, put it into perspective how fast it is. Thanks Phil

Pete -- thanks. I'd appreciate this muchly.

Phil -- the car's quick -- on a power-to-weight basis, it's in Z06 territory, but the Z06 has a *lot* more power down low. A C5 shouldn't be hard to shake, but there are always a bigger fish, so I don't spend much time worrying about it.

Kodokan...it looks like the repairs are coming along very well.

Anyway, this is completely off topic, and for that I'm sorry. Where did you get the plugs that you have in the trunk lid for the Emblem holes? I have looked everywhere for some little plugs like that in black, but I can't find them! Thanks!!

The Amuse-style hood from Evolution came today. I'm not happy with it. It has three manufacturing defects in the weave. If you want to see it, here is a link- Let me know what you think I should do about it.
