Default Compression test wired results, any thoughts?

Hello fellow s2k owners,

Yesterday I was sitting around and doing nothing, so I thought I can do a compression test on my car just to kill time. My car is a 02 ap1 with around 68000 miles. I think I'm the third owner of the car. I did the test on a warm engine, didn't add any oil through the spark plug hole.

The numbers turned out to be:
1. 255
2. 256
3. 250
4. 260

So from my understanding those numbers seems to be a little bit to high? I have used this compression tester on other cars and the number turned out to be normal.

Edit: I think cylinder head has been taken out of the car at some point.

Your gauge is probably just not calibrated correctly. I wouldn't worry. You're even across the board and "high" so that's all you need to know. My OTC gauge does the same thing.

I don't know. I feel like there is evidence that the cylinder head has been taken out of the car at some point. I was wondering could it be some higher compression head gasket been installed in my car? Does this kind of head gasket even exist?

No but if what you're saying is true, they usually mill the mounting surface of the head if it has been removed and is not to specs(ie completely flat) this tends to bump up your compression ratio.
