Default Comptech intake for SC:

Can that ugly monstrousity of an intake be changed out with some other intake without any custom fabrication? Or is it the end-all, be-all for the supercharger?

So far as I know, nobody has bothered to make an intake designed to hook up at that location - they're all predicated on attaching to the throttle body.

You think it's ugly Skip? It's only a little carbon fiber box I dont think it look's so bad once it's installed. I'm looking into some options with the intake tube.(Out of the airbox and into the S/C) Some kind of tube that could be polished instead of the big rubber one. That's the only part I dont like

I guess you could attach a AEM type intake to the SC inlet w/o too much modification.

As much as I like my Comptech SC and Intake, I wish I could recover the sound my PRM intake would make.

The Comptech is big and gawdy. It shouldn't be in the engine bay. I really like having my air filter lower and out of site.

Skip, I can't speak for your Comptech set-up, but I've replaced my Vortech airbox with my old JR filter and a home made rain shield (worried about water coming through the vented hood. I didn't like the tiny K&N filter that the Vortech came with. You think your Comptech airbox is ugly? You should see my monstrosity for the sake of better airflow. ...........................

I'm thinking over the winter, I'm going to run a length of that flex hose to the hole in the fender wall (where my JR is picking up cooler air right now). I'll seal it up against that hole and then run more flex hose down into the space where the AEM CAI filter lives. Since I'll make the filter hang down, I won't need to worry about water falling on it.

Yes, I'm more interested in relocating the filter to the same location that my AEM-type resides in now. I'm hoping for cooler air AND eye-relief! I guess I've just gotten used to having tons of space in the bay. I won't, however, ditch the box if I have to sacrifice power though.
